Waginger Ruderverein e.V. (Waginger Rowing Club)  

 Our rowing club is located at the beautiful Lake Waging in southern Germany in the state of Bavaria. The distance to Munich is about 150 km, with its Olympic race course in Oberschleißheim. Waging is only 35 kilometre away from the Mozart city of Salzburg in Austria.

 The rowing club has about 150 members at the age between 8 and 68. Roughly half of our members are younger than 26 years of age. About half of our members are female.

 Among our activities are

• competitive rowing in local, state, national and international regattas,
• rowing on rivers during day trips or multiple day trips,
• visiting neighbour rowing clubs for joint activities,
• breakfast rowing on Sundays,
• afternoon and evening programs six days a week,
• school courses with surrounding schools,
• school vacation program,
• beginners classes,
• handicapped rowing with visually impaired or blind persons

 The origins of the rowing club go back to the year 1992 when two rowers met in Waging accidentally. They decided to start rowing activities in Waging as a department of the local sailing club. At the end of 1997 the rowing club became independent starting with 54 club members. In 1998, the boat house was build and the boats moved in.
